The second-year Southern Miss coach has spent the past week-plus bouncing from position group to position group, studying and evaluating his players’ progress.
One of Hopson’s primary focal points has been the specialists. Chiefly, the Golden Eagles must replace four-year starter Tyler Sarrazin at punter.
“I’m watching that one daily,” he said. “I go out there with ‘em in pre-practice. I mean, that’s a daily thing, seeing who will be our punter.
