Mike Sanford couldn’t help but chuckle.
The first-year Western Kentucky football coach’s initial amusement was in response to a question regarding scholarship offers. Specifically, the largest number he’s ever seen firsthand offered in one recruiting cycle.
Sanford didn't have to ponder long — he was an offensive assistant coach on staff at Stanford in 2007 when Jim Harbaugh took over as football coach.
“With coach Harbaugh at Stanford, when he was trying to get the ball rolling, I think we were upwards of 400, at one point in time,” Sanford said.
