Eagles come up short at ODU

The boards were not kind to Southern Miss on Thursday.

Facing Old Dominion at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia, the Golden Eagles were out-rebounded 43-28. As a result, Southern Miss dropped a 54-50 decision.

The loss left the Golden Eagles with a 5-11 overall record and a 2-2 mark in Conference USA. Old Dominion improved to 11-6 and 4-1.

Cortez Edwards led the way with 13 points for USM while Michael Ramey netted 11 in the loss.

B.J. Stith’s 14 points led the way for the Monarchs. ODU led 25-24 at halftime.
