Southern Miss stars Taylor Braley and Matt Wallner were recognized Thursday for their standout play during the 2017 season.
The pair were named second-team All-American by Baseball America, becoming the first Golden Eagles to earn such an honor since pitcher Barry Bowden scored a third-team nod in 2008. It’s also the first time more than one Southern Miss player garnered All-American honors from Baseball America since Jeff Cook and Clint King picked up third-team accolades.
Southern Miss is one of six schools with more than one player honored by Baseball America Thursday, joining LSU, Florida, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Missouri State.
