Jay Hopson is either very comfortable with how the first week of spring camp played out or the second-year Southern Miss football coach has a mean poker face.

Following the week’s third practice session, which was bumped up to Friday due to anticipated inclement weather on Saturday, Hopson admitted the first fifth of camp wasn’t perfect. But throughout the week, he repeatedly stressed how pleased he was with the progress.
