Sofiane Boufal's stunning strike against Sunderland in the EFL Cup was alone worthy of filling a stadium, but unfortunately for the forward it played out in front of a ground with one of the main stands shut.
What a way, nonetheless, to mark his full Southampton debut. Boufal has had to wait for two months to get up to speed and fitness since becoming their club record summer signing and was only able to make his first substitute appearances against Inter Milan last week and Manchester City at the weekend.
