TAMPA, FEB. 5, 2016 – Outfielder Garrett Zech of the USF Baseball team was selected as the American Athletic Conference Preseason Freshman of the Year by D1Baseball.com on Friday. Zech (Naples, Fla.) was also named the top impact freshman this season in The American as well.
“Garrett is working hard every day to get better,” said USF head baseball coach Mark Kingston. “We feel like he has really good potential, and can blossom into an impact player.”
Zech was joined by three of his fellow teammates on D1Baseball’s top 10 impact freshman list in the AAC.
