Tommy Eveld Gets Start For USF Baseball Against UConn

After pulling off the upset over second-seeded East Carolina on Wednesday, USF gets to face a scorching-hot UConn team at 7 p.m.

After struggling at the end of the regular season and getting swept by UConn last weekend, USF baseball coach Mark Kingston told reporters last Saturday that the Bulls would get "creative" with the pitching staff at the American Athletic Conference tournament. The first wrinkle was throwing typical Saturday starter Brandon Lawson in the tournament opener against East Carolina yesterday. Although he finished with a no decision, Lawson rewarded Kingston's confidence in him by tossing seven great innings and striking out eight.
