CLEARWATER, Fla. (MAY 26, 2016) – The University of South Florida baseball team (24-32) was defeated 9-1 by UConn in the second round of the American Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday night.
With the loss, the Bulls will encounter Memphis on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. in an elimination game at Bright House Field.
UConn (35-22) went ahead first on a wild pitch in the top of the second.
Down 1-0, the Bulls then tied the game in the bottom of the inning with a Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) solo home run to left-center field.
