TAMPA (Sept. 25, 2016) – Peter Bertran wrapped up his Bedford Cup run with a runner-up finish Sunday morning. Bertran battled Florida’s Jordan Belga, falling 6-1, 6-2.
Bertran took the court with his entire team cheering him on in the stands. The junior, who clinched the American Championship last year to help the Bulls earn their third straight conference title, battled teammate Justin Roberts yesterday in semifinals. Roberts and Bertran went to a super tie break where Bertran finished on top, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7. In the finals, Bertran was unable to recover after a slow start and fell in straight sets.
