South Carolina football coach Will Muschamp and his staff hosted several prime prospects for a cookout in Columbia this weekend, and besides flipping burgers, Muschamp scored a pair of commitments for his offense: wide receiver Shawn Smith (6-0, 170) of Brunswick, Ga., and running back Kyshaun Bryan (5-10, 190) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The two commitments give USC nine for the 2017 class.
Other offers for Smith include Auburn, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Kentucky, Mississippi State and West Virginia. Last season, he called Georgia his favorite, but earlier this year he named Miami his leader. He visited there and Georgia this year, and he also went to Alabama for the spring game.
