South Alabama softball drops two to No. 17 Louisiana-Lafayette

The University of South Alabama softball team (19-12, 2-7 SBC) dropped a pair of games Sunday afternoon to No. 17/20 Louisiana-Lafayette (23-5, 6-0 SBC) as the Ragin' Cajuns picked up a Sun Belt Conference series sweep at Jaguar Field.

The Jaguars will continue league play with a midweek contest versus in-state rival Troy. First pitch versus the Trojans is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday night at Jaguar Field.

"I thought we hit the ball well today as we had 11 hits in game three against a quality pitching staff," South Alabama head coach Becky Clark said. "I'm happy to see our hitting starting to come around.
