South Alabama basketball falls 67-55 to Middle Tennessee

Middle Tennessee built a 17-point lead in the first half and held on for a 67-55 win over South Alabama Saturday at the Mitchell Center.

The Blue Raiders went on a 24-2 run in the first half, including 18 unanswered, to go up 26-9. JaCorey Williams scored a game-high 16 points to lead the way for Middle Tennessee (8-1).

The Jaguars (6-2) closed the first half on an 11-2 run to trail by seven at the break, and got as close as four in the first minute of the second half, but Middle Tennessee answered with back-to-back 3s.
