NEW ORLEANS – University of South Alabama junior Rio Hardy and sophomore Jemma Purfield have won the Sun Belt Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, respectively, the league announced Tuesday.
Both win the award for the first time in their career. The Jaguars also swept the conference awards on Sept. 6 and 13.
The pair accounted for a goal and three assists over the weekend, leading the Jags to a 2-0 record, including a 4-1 victory over league-leading Coastal Carolina on Sunday.
Hardy paced the Jaguars with a three-point weekend, putting up a goal and an assist.
