Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez joins West Ham United

West Ham United have signed Mexican striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen, the Premier League club have announced.

Chicharito, 29, leaves Bayer Leverkusen after spending two seasons with the Werkself, in which the Mexican scored 28 goals in 54 Bundesliga appearances.

All signs appeared to suggest that Chicharito was ready to move clubs this summer, after a disappointing campaign from Bayer Leverkusen led to the club to finishing 12th in the league, along with a mountain of rumors of a possible transfer to Major League Soccer.

Apparently Javier Hernandez "Chicharito" was asking for something in the $8-9m NET range to come to @MLS.
