U.S. Soccer and Nike Reveal New Home Jersey

 

Early this morning, U.S. Soccer revealed the new 2014 home jersey.

This new kit returns to a classic style of all white, while adding gray pinstripes across the sleeves and body. The inside collar features a blue pennant tab with the 13 stars from the original American flag. The environmentally-friendly element sets it apart from past kits--the jerseys, shorts and socks are made with varying percentages of recycled plastic bottles turned polyester.

Despite the excitement surrounding this new kit, many fans are unhappy with the style. Most feel the jersey looks like a golf polo--especially the way the collar buttons in the front.

However, it could be worse. Nike could have unveiled something similar to this Adidas away jersey worn in 1994:

The 2014-2015 home kit is currently available online at nike.com and in Nike stores.
