SMU volleyball started conference play with two straight wins last weekend.
The Mustangs beat East Carolina Thursday night and Cincinnati on Saturday. They entered conference play with a 7-5 record.
Their conference opener came against the previously undefeated ECU Pirates, and SMU took the match three sets to one. Katie Hegarty registered 16 kills and four aces. Setter Kendall Patterson racked up 48 assists.
After dealing ECU their first loss of the season, the preseason AAC favorite Cincinnati Bearcats came to town.
