SMU's Sterling Brown goes to Philadelphia 76ers in second round of NBA draft

SMU small forward Sterling Brown has been selected by the Phildelphia 76ers with the 46th overall pick in the second round of the NBA draft Thursday evening.

Brown was a four-year player at SMU and a part of two NCAA tournament appearances. He averaged 13.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists as a senior. He and classmate Ben Moore are the two winningest players in SMU program history.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pound Illinois native is the younger brother of former NBA guard Shannon Brown. Sterling joins Semi Ojeleye as Mustangs selected in this year's NBA draft. Ojeleye was selected by the Boston Celtics in the second round.
