Despite cracking the top 10 of the AP Top-25 as the nation's last unbeaten team last season, SMU never made the USA Today coaches poll. The reason: The National Association of Basketball Coaches policy of not ranking teams that can't play in the postseason.
Well, the Mustangs served their time and are eligible for the NCAA tournament this season.
