The 7 Best 2016 Football Recruits In The SEC

The SEC isn't the most balanced conference right now when it comes to recruiting...and that's reflected pretty clearly in the seven best football prospects currently committed to SEC schools. Here's our list of the top seven 2016 recruits currently signed on with SEC programs.

7. OT Jonah Williams -- Alabama Crimson Tide (#20 overall)

Derrick Henry won the 2015 Heisman Trophy, but the offensive line's work in front of him should have resulted in all of Henry's bodyguards taking home trophies. Williams will keep the O-line humming along, sporting a great frame and a versatile skill set which will allow him to slot in at both tackle and guard.

6. CB Saivion Smith -- LSU Tigers (#18)

Smith is the type of big-play cornerback that can swing an entire conference schedule, let alone a single game. He's a fantastic athlete who is fluid weaving in and out of assignments, and he's got a knack of making big plays (interceptions, bone-crushing tackles, etc.) in the clutch. LSU fans, meet your future shutdown corner.

5. DE Marlon Davidson -- Auburn Tigers (#17)

Davidson is an athletic freak who has crazy speed to go along with his 6-foot-3, 279-pounds frame. Explosive at the point of attack, the Tigers' new DE should be able to put on EVEN MORE muscle as he terrorizes opposing offensive lines both on the pass rush and as a run stopper.

4. TE Isaac Nauta -- Georgia Bulldogs (#9)

Nauta is going to be 2016 QB Jacob Eason's best friend in Athens (more on Eason later). Nauta is the best tight end in the Class of 2016, and it's not even close. No one can touch is athleticism, or his ceiling as both a blocker and a receiving threat. He won't be just a safety valve for the Dawgs. He'll be an integral part of their offense.

3. QB Shea Patterson -- Ole Miss Rebels (#5)

Patterson is the ultimate spread quarterback -- he's primarily a pocket passer who makes the right throws to the right targets 99% of the time, moving through his progressions like he's a part of some advanced QB class. He still has work to do on his mechanics and his arm strength isn't elite, but he's got the makeup and the smarts to be a top-level SEC quarterback.

2. QB Jacob Eason -- Georgia Bulldogs (#4)

Eason/Nauta is going to cause any defense they come in contact with a multitude of problems. Eason is a big-armed pocket passer who can make all the throws, using a hitchless release and great deep touch to his advantage. If we were to point out one 2016 QB recruit who'll be first-round NFL Draft pick ready before long, it would be Eason.

1. OT Gregory Little -- Ole Miss Rebels (#2)

Little is the ultimate offensive line prospect for the modern-day college football game -- versatile, quick-moving, and able to finish blocks with brute force while using his footwork to establish/maintain leverage. He's above all a fantastic athlete who's already piquing NFL scouts' interest.
