Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer says Jordan Morris (ankle) is “day-to-day”

TUKWILA, Wash. — Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer said injured forward Jordan Morris is “day-to-day,” with his status for Friday’s home tilt against Atlanta United (7 p.m. PT; FS1, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360AM | TICKETS) to be determined.

Morris hurt his ankle in the first half in a 3-1 win over the New York Red Bulls on March 19, but stayed in and played 81 minutes, eventually scoring the game-winner. He left immediately following the game for San Jose, Calif., to join the United States national team ahead of a World Cup Qualifying match against Honduras last Friday.
