It is the season opener for Seattle Sounders 2. The young team has a roster of 12 signed to USL deals, 2 loanees from the MLS team (Seyi Adekoya and Brian Meredith) and 14 eligible Academy talents. They face an ambitious Sacramento Republic side that dreams of entering MLS and challenges for championships. It is the third straight year when S2 opened their season against Republic.
Brian Nana-Sinkam played a few minutes with the First Team in Saturday night’s friendly. He may be limited today. The rest of the roster should be healthy and available.
