With injuries, Seahawks must protect Russell Wilson from himself

RENTON, Wash. -- After Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson went down with a knee injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, he got up slowly, headed to the sideline, and Trevone Boykin came in for one play.

Asked if he was OK with how the sequence played out, coach Pete Carroll said, "Not particularly, no. He kind of just ran out onto the field, and so we let him have a couple plays there.
