Seahawks: Lynch officially on reserve/retired list

The Marshawn Lynch era in Seattle is officially over.

Lynch announced his retirement during the Super Bowl but he remained on the Seahawks' roster until today, when the team announced it has placed him on the reserve/retired list.

Lynch's contract originally carried a cap hit of $11.5 million for 2016, but with this transaction, that number shrinks to $5 million, essentially creating $6.5 million in cap space for the Seahawks.

The past three months have been eventful for Lynch. He went to Egypt as part of the American Football Without Barriers program.
