Seahawks awarded pair of compensatory 3rd-round picks

The NFL awarded the Seattle Seahawks two third-round selections Friday in the annual doling out of compensatory draft picks, the system that helps compensate teams who lost major free-agent contributors the previous offseason.

Seattle's two additional selections (Nos. 102 and 106 overall) brings their total number of 2017 draft picks to seven, with five in the first 106 selections. The Seahawks dealt away their 2017 fourth-round pick last year in order to move up to select Maryland defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson in the fifth-round of the 2016 draft. The Seahawks forfeited their 2017 fifth-round pick in September after an NFL investigation found Seattle violated the league's offseason workout rules.
