Marshawn Lynch injury: Beast Mode to have surgery, miss at least a month

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is expected to miss at least a month after having surgery to repair a sports hernia, according to reports.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Monday morning that the fear was that it would require surgery, then confirmed on Tuesday that's the case. The team has not yet confirmed nor denied the news (and there have been a few conflicting reports about what's going on), but Pete Carroll has a press conference today.

Lynch met with hernia specialist Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia on Tuesday and apparently decided that it's best to go ahead with the surgery with an eye on getting back in time for the playoffs.
