Carroll: Seahawks open to re-signing DB Brandon Browner

Two days after the Seahawks waived defensive back Brandon Browner, coach Pete Carroll on Wednesday floated the possibility the Seahawks could try to re-sign him.

"I thought, in respect to [Browner}, [waiving him now will] give him more chances to find a place with someone else," Carroll said. "In many scenarios, we would ask him to come back, so we left with that exchange."

The Seahawks tried to convert Browner from a cornerback to a safety after signing him to a non-guaranteed, one-year, $760,000 deal in April. But Browner, 31, did little to distinguish himself during training camp or the first three preseason games.
