A couple years ago, Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks delivered a dominating 43-8 performance against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl.
This time around, Manning's squad did what Wilson's couldn't: beat the Carolina Panthers.
Manning did not announce his retirement after the win, but in a post on The Players' Tribune, Wilson paid tribute to one of the all-time greats:
"You inspired me to work hard. To be disciplined. To be respectful. To take notes.
You inspired me to love the process.
