Seahawks News: Marcus Trufant officially retires as a Seahawk

In Seahawks news today, cornerback Marcus Trufant has officially retired today as a Seattle Seahawk, rather than pursuing free agency to catch on with another NFL team.

So tweets out Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun:

Earlier today, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reported that Trufant was to sign with the Seahawks, in order to finish off his career with the team which he spent most of his decade-plus in the NFL with:

Per Luke Adams of ProFootballRumors.com, "Trufant, 33, spent nearly his entire NFL career in Seattle after the team drafted him 11th overall in 2003. In his 10 seasons with the Seahawks, Trufant played 136 games, including 125 starts, and racked up 21 interceptions. His best year came in 2007, when he picked off seven passes and earned the only Pro Bowl berth of his career."

Trufant last appeared in a regular season NFL game back in 2012.
