Report: Seahawks Players Feared That Percy Harvin Had Broken Golden Tate's Neck

Literally dozens of stories have come out regarding the Seattle Seahawks' trade of Percy Harvin to the New York Jets, with several of those centered on what appears to be gross misconduct by Harvin during his time in the Pacific Northwest.

One of those allegations claims that Harvin punched now-Detroit Lions receiver Golden Tate during Super Bowl week last season, giving him a black eye.

However, per Mike Florio of NBC's Pro Football Talk, the altercation might have been even scarier than previously reported:

Said one source regarding the situation, “Believe everything you hear about Harvin and the Seahawks.”  The reported fracas with former Seahawks receiver Golden Tate happened, we’re told, the night before Super Bowl XLVIII.  The source said Harvin body slammed Tate at the team hotel, and that players initially feared Harvin broke Tate’s neck.

Florio added that there is a theory going around that "Harvin was in danger of being on the wrong end of a Code Red from teammates who had enough of his angry, moody, erratic ways."

Those "erratic ways" seemingly bordered on legitimate assault if Florio's source is to be fully believed.
