Mariners LHP Smyly scratched from Friday start with arm discomfort

Seattle Mariners left-hander Drew Smyly has been scratched from his scheduled spring training start Friday after experiencing discomfort in his pitching arm.

Mariners manager Scott Servais told reporters Wednesday that Smyly "didn't feel great" after throwing a bullpen session the previous day. He said Smyly would be examined by team doctors later in the day.

"At this time of spring you're always a little concerned," Servais said, according to MLB.
