Women’s Basketball’s Berry, Women’s Tennis’ Ong Named Hackworth Fellows

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University announced the recipients of the Hackworth Fellowship in Applied Ethics for the 2017-18 academic year. Two Bronco student-athletes, Taylor Berry of the women's basketball team and Giannina Ong of the women's tennis team, were selected.

Hackworth Fellows are seniors who work on projects in applied ethics that are either focused on campus concerns or are connected to the Ethics Center's engagement with matters in Silicon Valley and beyond. For the 2017-18 academic year, the Center is also revising the way it handles the fellowships in order to place fellows not only with the Campus Ethics Program but also with the Center's programs in Leadership and Business Ethics, Government Ethics, and Internet Ethics.
