SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara volleyball begins 2016 West Coast Conference play with a tough pair of road matches this week. The Broncos travel to Utah for a Thursday contest against No. 13 BYU, then head to Southern California for a Saturday tilt with No. 7 San Diego.
Santa Clara is just outside the AVCA Top 25; the team picked up 67 points in Monday's poll. The Broncos were ranked No. 17 last week and No. 19 in the previous week. They entered the Boise State Invitational at 9-0 — the best start in program history — and lost all three matches to close out nonconference play.
