SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis picked up its first West Coast Conference victory of the season on Sunday. The Broncos defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs by a score of 4-1 after losing the doubles point.
The Broncos (11-3, 1-2 WCC) lost a tightly contested doubles point to Gonzaga (6-6, 0-2 WCC). Sophomore Connor Garnett and freshman Vasileios Iliopoulos picked up a 6-4 win on court one but the Broncos fell 6-4 on both courts two and three.
Freshman Jesus Tapiador Barajas earned his second straight victory with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court four over Ronzai Saurombe.
