NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Junior Hayden Shieh shot a final-round 4-under 66 and Santa Clara men's golf matched yesterday's season-low round of 284 to claim a seventh-place finish at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic, completed today at the 6,713-yard, par-70 Warren Golf Course.
The Broncos shot a 19-over 859 for the three-day event, missing out on a top five finish by five strokes. Texas-El Paso totaled an 835 to hold on for a 1-shot win over host Notre Dame.
"Overall it was kind of a so-so day," head coach Rob Miller said.
