Report: Flyers have 'their eye on' Sharks' McLellan

Another potential destination for the Sharks’ Todd McLellan opened up on Friday, if the 47-year-old coach's future is not in San Jose.

The Philadelphia Flyers became the third NHL team to fire their head coach since the regular season ended, relieving Craig Berube. According to CSNPhilly.com, McLellan is one of three coaches still employed by their current clubs that the Flyers have "their eye on.” Detroit’s Mike Babcock and Boston’s Claude Julien are the others.

The Sabres and Maple Leafs also have coaching vacancies.

McLellan’s status remains hazy, but he said on Wednesday that he expects his future with the Sharks organization to be settled by April 24, when he leaves for the Czech Republic to coach Team Canada in the IIHF World Championships.
