RECAP: Quakes can't answer in defeat in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas. – The San Jose Earthquakes fell to the Houston Dynamo 3-0 Saturday night at BBVA Compass Stadium in the second leg of a two-game road stretch.

Earthquakes goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell made his first MLS start and denied a Houston penalty attempt in the 49th minute. Defender Francois Affolter also made his first MLS start after making his first start with the Quakes on Wednesday, Aug. 9 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Semifinal.

The Earthquakes will return to Avaya Stadium to face the Philadelphia Union, presented by Meriwest, on Saturday, Aug.
