SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes have raised $40,000 that will be given to the Silicon Valley Community Fund to aid victims of the recent flooding in San Jose.

A fundraiser organized by the Quakes Foundation received contributions of $14,830 from the general public, which was matched by the Earthquakes in full. An additional $10,000 donated by the Oakland Athletics saw the total rise to $39,660. The Quakes then contributed the final $340 to bring the grand total to $40,000.

In addition to raising funds for the relief effort, the Earthquakes also hosted numerous evacuees at yesterday’s scrimmage by providing free tickets and transportation, courtesy of LuxBus America and Uber, to watch the club’s 4-1 win over Sacramento Republic FC.
