Adam Duvall was part of the Mike Leake trade last season that helped bump Tim Hudson out of the rotation. On Wednesday, he was part of a Reds explosion that’ll make the Giants think harder about making a Jake Peavy decision.
Duvall hit the fourth homer of the day against Peavy, who walked off the mound in a 7-4 Giants loss with a 9.00 ERA. Peavy gave up seven earned in six innings and was charged with 13 runs in just eight innings on this road trip.
Manager Bruce Bochy has stuck behind Peavy and struggling fifth starter Matt Cain, but the trend is not in the right direction.
