The afterglow of a World Series championship seems to last a long time. Catcher Hector Sanchez played a major role as Buster Posey’s backup for two San Francisco title teams, and Giants fans have not forgotten.
When Sanchez pinch-hit for San Diego in the ninth inning of Tuesday night’s 8-2 Giants victory at AT&T Park, the fans gave him a standing ovation.
“To be back here and get the same feeling I had when I was wearing a Giants uniform is pretty special,” Sanchez said Wednesday. “It shows you what good fans they are.
