SAN DIEGO - General manager Bobby Evans does not think he is a "knucklehead" because he could not get a closer at the deadline.
Still, Evans admitted Friday he has struggled to see the Giants blow save after save without wondering if he could done more to get one of the few firemen who were traded.
Evans said he was joking with national baseball reporter Jon Heyman when he said, "Every time I lose, I think, 'What a knucklehead am I?"
"I think I was laughing," Evans said, recalling the interview. "Without laughter, I would not have called myself a knucklehead.
