CINCINNATI – Brandon Belt left Cincinnati on Wednesday with a clear head and a confident approach at the plate.
When he boarded a flight out of Cincinnati last season, he had one of the two.
In a series here last September, he finally found a stance and a feeling at the plate that allowed him to see the ball deeper, allowing him to react to the pitch rather than keep falling back on guesswork. It was the comfort zone he had spent his entire big league life searching to find.
But he also had a headache after his noggin collided with the knee of Reds infielder Ivan De Jesus Jr.
