Reports: Dodgers trade Morse to Pirates

The Dodgers officially acquired Michael Morse on Thursday afternoon at 1:43 p.m.

They then designated Morse for assignment on Thursday afternoon at 4:21 p.m.

Just before Friday's deadline, they shipped him to the Pirates for Jose Tabata, according to multiple reports.

Morse won a World Series title with the Giants last year, and signed a two-year, $16 million free agent deal with Miami last December.

He's hitting just .213 with four home runs and 12 RBI in 53 games this season.
