Moore shows best stuff as Giants top Phillies

SAN FRANCISCO — Apparently, Matt Moore received the memo.

Although the Giants entered Friday’s action 22 games out of a National League playoff spot, manager Bruce Bochy insists the team isn’t giving up on the season, playing for pride, their devoted fans and positive momentum heading into the 2018 season.

Moore (4-12) started setting the stage for a bounce back campaign at AT&T Park Friday night, putting together arguably his best start of the season, surrendering just two hits in 7 1/3 innings of work in a 10-2 Giants win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The win was Moore’s first since June 20 and just his second in his last 17 starts.
