It was a season of growing pains for the young USF Dons volleyball team in 2016. Having a roster carrying six freshmen, which was half of the roster, first year head coach Vicki Brown had her work cut out for her from the start.
Through the first four games, the team was getting the job done. The Dons opened the season in Athens, Georgia on August 26th playing in the Benson Hospitality Open. The season opening match went the Dons way as they took down Savannah State in straight sets in impressive fashion 25-15, 25-15, 25-16.
