STANFORD, Calif. – The San Francisco track and field team recorded four more personal bests on the first day of the Cardinal Classic, highlighted by a pair of performances in the 5,000 meters.
The redshirt freshman from Buren, Germany, shaved off more than 25 seconds from her previous benchmark, taking 10th in the invitational section of the 5K at Cobb Track and Angell Field. Mobbed by her cheering teammates at the finish line, the performance was a bright spot of the night for the Dons.
Also competing at the 5,000 meter distance, Ben Alcock turned in a personal best performance taking eighth in section 2 with a mark of 14:15.
