SAN FRANICSCO – For the first time in the match play bracket of the 106th California Amateur Championships, San Francisco golfer Henry Chung found himself in an unfamiliar position – playing from behind.
It took an extra hole to pull out the victory, but Chung prevailed in the quarterfinal round, taking down Southern Cal golfer Danny Ochoa and notching his third upset win in the brackets. Chung, seeded 25th, has dispatched No. 8 Daniel Connolly, No. 9 Norman Xiong, and now No. 16 Ochoa.
"The course was playing very tough today, and both my opponent and I were struggling," reflected Chung.
