The San Francisco 49ers have a lot of draft preparation in front of them, but the free agency market is not quite finished. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted that the 49ers are meeting with restricted free agent defensive end Jacquies Smith.
Smith suffered a torn ACL in Week 1 of this past season, and spent the rest of the year on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers injured reserve list. Prior to that, he had 13.5 sacks combined over the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Listed at 6’2, 260 pounds, he would compete for work as one of the 49ers edge rushers.
