The San Francisco 49ers have struggled mightily with injuries to receivers and tight ends. The bug has apparently crossed over to the defense as well, with Jimmie Ward officially out for Sunday
The Niners’ starting Number 2 cornerback, Ward went down with a quad strain last Sunday during kickoff coverage. There was no contact involved in the play.
Ward has subsequently been ruled out for Week 4. This leaves the 49ers with Keith Reaser and Rashard Robinson vying to take his place opposite Tramaine Brock.
