Colin Kaepernick has all but lost the San Francisco 49ers quarterback battle. If nothing else comes out of the 49ers Week 3 preseason 21-10 defeat to the Green Bay Packers, this should be taken as a near-certainty — despite Blaine Gabbert‘s mediocrity Friday as well.
The 49ers took an early lead with Gabbert under center as Quinton Patton scored a touchdown on their second possession. From that point onward, however, the game was all Green Bay.
Aaron Rodgers had his first action of the preseason as well, though he only played two possessions, also leading his team to a touchdown on his second series.
